A Fine Exhibition quality 3 inch scale model of an 'Atkinson' steam lorry
A Fine Exhibition quality 3 inch scale model of an 'Atkinson' steam lorry. The lorry was built to a very high standard by Mr Roger Annear of Cornwall to the R Prime design. It has a vertical brazed and superheated copper boiler with pressure gauge, sight glass, drain cock, regulator, injector, clack and blow down valve. The engine details include twin cylinders 1 1/2 inch bore x 1 1/2 inch stroke, enclosed crank, gear and eccentric driven feed pump, mechanical lubricator and chain and sprocket drive to the rear axle. Chassis detail include Ackerman steering, spoked wheels with rubber tyres, working leaf springs, hand operated band brake to rear axle, rear mounted body under water tank, formed metalwork cab with sign written front panel ‘ Cornish Millers Established 1902 Truro’ and planked flat bed to rear. The model is finished in dark red lined livery with polished bright work. Fine detailing including builders plates, brass road lamps, license holders and roof panel holding cargo sheeting. The rear wheels being 9 1/8th inch diameter and the front wheels 7 7/8th diameter, both with fitted polish brass hub caps. Total length 59 inches, height 24 inches, width 20 inches.
Boiler History: Past History. Copper Priory Boilers Hydraulic test dated June 2001. Hydraulic pressure 200 psi. Working pressure 100.psi. Boiler serial number PB572/01 with Materials Specification.
